Jeremy Clayton Horne - Repeat Sex Offender


A 24-year-old registered sex offender faces four more charges after Gaston County Police found another person accusing him of rape.

Jeremy Clayton Horne, of the 100 block of Magnolia Street, Belmont, with two additional counts of statutory rape and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, according to a press release.

Gaston County Police took out additional warrants against Horne while investigating the accusation that he raped a 15-year-old girl.

Gastonia Police Sgt. Chris Reynolds said Horne had been in a relationship with the girl off and on since about May 2007. Family contacted the police about that relationship.

The second girl is 16 now but was under 16 when having a relationship with him. That relationship was believed to have been going on since June 2007.

Horne was charged with one count of statutory rape and one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor Tuesday and put in Gaston County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

The new charges bring his bond up to a secured $250,000.

Horne was charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor in May 2003, according to the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry Web site.

Horne was sentenced to serve three years probation after that conviction, according to the registry.
