Lowell B. "Barry" Hanna 0- the neighbor next door

Lois E. Mummert was concerned when she heard her 66-year-old neighbor, Lowell B. "Barry" Hanna, was missing.

An anxious relative of Hanna's had called from Ohio to tell her. Mummert knew Hanna had had a heart attack a few years ago, and was alone; he was divorced, and his children had moved away.

She promised Hanna's family that she and her sons would look out for him and would call if they learned anything.

For three days, someone would walk down to Hanna's Codorus Township home, only to return with no news.

Then, on Wednesday, Mummert was in the break room where she works at Adhesives Research when she flipped over the front page of the morning newspaper.

She saw Hanna's photo and a story saying he had been arrested in Delaware County, accused of trying to have sex with 7- and 9-year-old girls and their mother, whom he had met online.

"I yelled, 'Oh my God. Oh my God.' Here we are trying to find out where he's at because we thought it was something medical. We never imagined this," Mummert
