Michael Vincent Forshey - Repeat Sex Offender

A convicted child molester's latest sex-related convictions have resulted in an 18-year prison term.

Michael Vincent Forshey, 35, had been charged last July with two counts each of sexual misconduct with a minor, a class B felony carrying a standard 10-year prison term, and providing a minor with obscene material, a class D felony with a standard 18-month sentence.

Henry Superior Court 1 Judge Michael Peyton this month imposed the 18-year sentence after Forshey reached a plea agreement with the Henry County prosecutor's office.
Authorities said the events leading to the Henry County charges occurred last May at the Holiday Inn Express, 24 E. Executive Drive, where Forshey was employed as an overnight desk manager.

Forshey first approached the 15-year-old victim at the motel's pool, then used a key to enter the youth's room during the early morning hours, police said. A 14-year-old boy witnessed the misconduct.

Authorities said the probe leading to the most recent arrest began after the mother of his alleged victim found e-mails Forshey had allegedly sent the teen.

According to Wayne County court records, Forshey pleaded guilty to three counts of child molesting in 1997, drawing a five-year prison term. He had since lived in Henry and Wayne counties, according to the Indiana Sheriffs' Sex and Violent Offender Registry.
