Paul Ford - 5 years Prison for Child Porn

State Police allegedly found more than 21,000 pornographic images and more than 2,000 video sex clips involving children, he said.

The prosecutor added that it was later determined the pornography found on Ford's computer included images of more than 1,200 children listed nationwide as victims of abuse.

A Fairfield business executive who pleaded guilty to having thousands of images of child pornography on his computer will spend the next five years in prison.

Paul Ford, 53, of Galloping Hill Road in Fairfield, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended after five years, followed by probation for one count of possession of child pornography.

The sentence was handed down by Superior Court Judge George Thim this morning.

According to court records, Ford, an executive with a New York company and the father of two children, contacted a Keene, N.H., police officer pretending to be a 14-year-old boy in an Internet chatroom using the e-mail name "tyisgood.'' Ford discussed oral sex with the person he apparently believed to be a teen and e-mailed him photos and a video clip of a man having sex with a boy, said Senior Assistant State's Attorney Cornelius Kelly, the prosecutor in the case.

Police searched Ford's home on July 10, 2006, and seized his computer, Kelly said. State Police allegedly found more than 21,000 pornographic images and more than 2,000 video sex clips involving children, he said.

The prosecutor added that it was later determined the pornography found on Ford's computer included images of more than 1,200 children listed nationwide as victims of abuse.

Henry Lyons, the lawyer for Ford, had no comment after the sentencing.
