Albert Bath - Repeat Sex Offender - Repeat Baby Raper

A former Grand Forks man, already registered as a high-risk sex offender and imprisoned, has been charged with sexually assaulting a young girl, a police spokesman said.

Albert Bath, 39, also known as Albert Fleur, is accused of engaging in a sexual act with a girl who was 5 to 7 years old. The incident, reported to police Feb. 2, occurred between December 2003 and March 2006 in Grand Forks, the complaint states.

“It’s not unusual for a victim of a child sex abuse case to come forward a substantial amount of time after the incident,” Lt. Rahn Farder said.

Police paperwork said the girl, who was Bath’s neighbor at the time, was at his residence with a friend when the alleged incident occurred. The girl reported the incident to a school social worker when she was 9 years old, the document states.

Farder would not comment on whether there were other possible victims involved in the case because the investigation is ongoing.

A warrant for gross sexual imposition recently was served to Bath, who is incarcerated at the North Dakota State Penitentiary in Bismarck on unrelated charges, Farder said. The charge is a Class AA felony, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment without parole.

Bath, who moved several times, has been the subject of several public notifications in Grand Forks, the release states.

According to North Dakota’s sex offender Web site, Bath was convicted in 1989 in Polk County (Minn.) District Court of second degree criminal sexual conduct for molesting two girls, ages 9 and 10, while he was babysitting them. He was sentenced to 30 months in jail and 15 years probation.

In 1992, Bath was convicted in the same court on the same charge for having sexual contact with two 4-year-old girls. He was sentenced to 4½ years in prison, according to the site.
