Barry Holland - Repeat Sex Offender GUILTY

A REGISTERED sex offender has appeared before Plymouth magistrates and pleaded guilty to charges of sexually assaulting three children in Plymouth in recent months.

Barry Holland, 27, of Rosebery Avenue, Lipson, appeared in custody and admitted two charges of sexually touching girls under the age of 13 and a third charge of sexually touching a child under the age of 13 between January 1 and July 22 this year.

Holland also pleaded guilty to being a registered sex offender who had failed to follow notification requirements when he stayed at an address other than his own for more than seven days, namely a property in the Pennycross area between January 4 and April 28 this year.

He also admitted a similar charge of staying at an address in the north of Plymouth between May 9 and July 22 this year.

Magistrates heard Holland had been placed on the Sex Offenders' Register in 2002 following his conviction for previous offences.

Magistrates directed Holland should be sent to the Crown court for sentencing.

No application for bail was made on his behalf.

Holland was remanded in custody to next appear at Plymouth Crown Court on August 1.
