A registered sex offender has been charged with stalking a 13-year-old boy who lives nearby.
Westland Police said Cherokee Lee Hunter, 29, is accused of stalking the boy between June 8 and 23.
The boy's mother said Hunter befriended him and started hanging around the house often.
The boy said he was starting to feel uncomfortable with Hunter, so his mother warned him to stay away from him.
The mother said Hunter continued to ride his bicycle by their home, sit outside the home in his vehicle and waited in the back yard for the child to come outside.
Hunter was on probation for a 1997 incident in Wayne where he was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a 12-year-old girl.
