Christopher Lynn Koppe 111 counts of Child Sex Abuse

A Titusville man facing 111 counts of child sexual abuse remains in Brevard County Detention Center this morning.

Christopher Lynn Koppe, 40, is in jail on a $3.7 million bond and is facing life in prison if convicted of the charges stemming from accusations made to a camp counselor about the alleged acts.

Koppe was arrested earlier this week after an interview at the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, said Cmdr. Stuart Otto of the Titusville Police Department.

During that interview, Koppe admitted to having sexual contact with the girl, Otto said.

Koppe is charged with two counts of a lewd and lascivious act with a child under 16 years old, 104 counts of a sexual act with a child and five counts of sexual battery of a child under 12 years old.

If convicted of a battery charge, Koppe would receive a sentence of life in prison.

The girl told a counselor at a camp this summer about the alleged abuse, which had escalated for seven years from lewd and lascivious molestation to sexual battery, Otto said.

Titusville police also searched Koppe's Ford pickup last week and collected evidence that is being analyzed, Otto said.

Koppe has had minor traffic violations in Brevard County and has two felony convictions in California: one for robbery in 1992 and one for theft of a vehicle in 1994.
