Kenneth Deroboam - Child Molester gets Life in Prison

Sixty-two-year-old Kenneth Deroboam, Ada, was sentenced to life in prison for the molestation of a child under the age of 12 Friday.

Assistant District Attorney Jim Tillison said he is very satisfied with the sentence.

“All these cases are difficult, but this is the most disturbing case I’ve ever handled,” Tillison said.

Deroboam pleaded no contest to six charges related to the molestations in June. Pontotoc County District Judge Tom Landrith gave Deroboam life sentences on three of the six charges, including rape by instrumentation and two counts of first-degree rape.

Deroboam was sentenced to 20 years each on one count of lewd molestation and two counts of forcible sodomy. All sentences will run concurrently and Deroboam must serve at least 38 years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections before being eligible for parole, Tillison said.

A court document said the victim was interviewed by a Department Of Human Services worker. The child went into graphic details about the assaults. Deroboam was arrested and held until sentencing. He will be taken to the DOC immediately.
