A 53-year-old convicted pedophile, who left town several years ago following a Belleville radio station’s exposé into his public dating activities, has been charged by police in Kitchener with sex-related offences involving minors, including making and possessing child pornography.
The former Foxboro native and Belleville man was arrested Friday at his Kitchener home after a three-month investigation into allegations made by someone within his home, stated to Waterloo Regional Police.
Officers seized a laptop computer and several digital storage devices, including a hard drive, from a Kitchener townhouse.
Police said they found some worrisome digital images on the computer, including photos showing at least one young girl and possibly another engaged in sexual acts.
Through those pictures, police were able to identify the girls.
Both are from the Kitchener area and under the age of 12, but are not related to the accused and did not live in the same home, police said.
It's still not clear when any abuse began or for how long it occurred, police said.
Further charges could be laid as police forensic experts continue to comb through the computer
Charged with sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual assault is Terrance Madden, who is also known as Colt Madden. The charges are connected to the making of child pornography, police said.
Madden made a weekend appearance in a London, Ont. court and was remanded back into custody.
In February 2006 Madden — who is a convicted pedophile and a registered sex offender — was exposed by the Mix 97 morning show after he put himself up for auction in a local charity event.
