The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 49 year old Burt Guathier on charges of attempted aggravated rape and aggravated rape on September 22 after the victims came forward and reported the incident.
The incidents apparently occurred on two different occasions at Gauthier's home while the female victims were visiting, sometime between 1981 and 1983. The victims were between the ages of seven and ten years old at the time.
Gauthier is currently incarcerated in the Iberia Parish Correctional Center. His bond is set at $500,000.
Gauthier is currently registered as a sex offender on the Louisiana State Police Sex Offender Registry.
