A Calvert City man has been charged for possessing child pornography. The Marshall County Sheriff's office Tuesday said 27-year-old Gary Nichols was served with a warrant in the McCracken County Jail charging him with 10 counts of possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
His bond was set at $100,000. Officials say a detective saw a news story last month that involved Nichols, who is a register sex offender, trying to pick up a child in Paducah. The detective followed up on the case. During a search of a computer and other items he found the images, which resulted in the charges.
