Michael Andrew Frese - Repeat Sex Offender - Posed as Cop "Arrested" woman then raped her

A registered sex offender was arrested Friday and charged with posing as a police officer, and kidnapping and raping a woman.

Polk sheriff's detectives said Michael Andrew Frese, 30, a restaurant cook in Lakeland, met a Clearwater woman online and agreed to pay her for sex. He met her Thursday in the parking lot of an Auburndale Wal-Mart and they drove to Saddle Creek Park.

Frese showed her a badge and photo ID and told her he was a police officer and she was under arrest, an arrest affidavit said.

Frese handcuffed the woman, patted her down and took her into the woods, where he showed her a knife and warned her not to scream. He then raped her, the affidavit said.

Afterward, as Frese continued to walk the woman through the woods, she escaped from the handcuffs and ran to a home off Saddle Creek Road, where she called authorities. She was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center and later identified Frese in a photo lineup, the affidavit said.

Frese is on probation for a conviction of sexual battery with a weapon and is registered as a sexual offender with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He is being held in South County Jail without bail.
