Walter E. Absher - Filthy old child molesting pedophile

A man being held in Floyd County for allegedly inappropriately touching three young girls is now being charged with 35 counts of class A felony child molestation in Clark County.

Walter E. Absher, 71, of Nicholasville, Ky., is accused of molesting three female family members in Floyd County. The new charges relate to molestation that allegedly occurred in Clark County.

One girl, now 14, said Absher began touching her private parts when she was 5 years old, according to a probable-cause affidavit filed in Clark County Superior Court No. 1. She reportedly told a forensic interviewer at the Child Advocacy Center that Absher would come in her room at night, and she would wake up with her pants down.

She said that when she would cry, he would stick a sock in her mouth. He also allegedly threatened to set the house on fire if she told anyone.

The girl said when she was in third grade, Absher would put duct tape over her mouth, take off her clothing and tie her to the bed with rope. She even put a special lock on the inside of her closet door so that he could not get to her, according to the affidavit.

She reportedly did tell someone at school about the abuse when she was younger, but Absher denied the allegations and the girl said she was beaten for telling.

Absher told a detective that he did rub the girl’s breasts, but denied having sex with her, according to the affidavit.

The molestation reportedly began at his residence in New Washington.

Absher was first charged in Floyd County after the girl said she witnessed him touch her 12-year-old sister’s and 8-year-old cousin’s genitals at their residence in New Albany, according to a probable-cause affidavit. The 12-year-old allegedly told police she was fondled.

Absher was charged in Floyd County with two counts of child molesting, a class C felony, and sexual misconduct with a minor, a class D felony. He has a final pretrial conference scheduled for Jan. 6 and jury trial scheduled for Jan. 26.

The charges in Clark County were filed Nov. 12. He faces 20 to 50 years in prison for each class A felony.
