Three Boyfriends sentenced to Life in Prison for molesting Girlfriends child

  • Lawrence sentenced to 25 years to life for molesting his former girlfriend's now-10-year-old daughter three years ago.

  • Collins sentenced to 15 years to life for molesting the 5-year-old daughter of his Buffalo girlfriend two years ago.

  • Jenkins was sentenced to 20 years to life for raping former girlfriend's now 10 year old daughter in November and December 2007.
Terry Jenkins on Wednesday became the third Buffalo man in the past month to get a life term for sexually assaulting a young girl.

Jenkins, 34, formerly of Fillmore and Newburgh avenues, was denounced by State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski as "a sick man" for what he did repeatedly to his former girlfriend's daughter in her Buffalo home two years ago.
Jenkins insisted he has "never been this type of monster" and was convicted by "false statements" of the girl — now 10 — and his ex-girlfriend.

The judge rejected his claims, telling Jenkins he had "no doubt whatsoever that you committed these acts."
Michalski heard non-jury trials demanded by Jenkins, Robert Lawrence and Aaron Collins over the past month. He found all three guilty as charged of predatory sexual assault against a child under 13, convicting them under the relatively new state law that carries a mandatory life term.

The judge ordered Jenkins, who is now a registered sex offender, to serve 20 years to life for raping the girl in November and December 2007.

At the request of Kristin A. St. Mary, new head of the Erie County District Attorney's Domestic Violence Bureau, the judge also slapped Jenkins with a 100-year order of protection, as allowed by the state's high court for such sex crime convictions. Thomas Farley, Jenkins' attorney, told the judge he found that order to be legally "excessive."
On May 13, Michalski sentenced Lawrence, 37, of Herkimer Avenue, to 25 years to life for molesting his former girlfriend's now-10-year-old daughter three years ago.

On April 24, he ordered Collins, 31, of Gibson Street, to serve a 15 years to life for molesting the 5-year-old daughter of his Buffalo girlfriend two years ago. Collins became the first Erie County suspect convicted under the state's toughened predatory sexual assault law.
