Joseph Johnson - Repeat Sex Offender - Plot foiled


Mountain Home Police arrested a convicted sex offender after he allegedly approached a 13-year-old girl at a local business and started asking her questions.
Joseph Johnson, 34, of Midway was arrested for disorderly conduct, a class A misdemeanor, after police took a complaint from the girl's father.

According to a police press release, Johnson approached the girl at a local business and started asking questions, which made the girl nervous and scared. The girl told her father of the incident, who then went to police.
Johnson, who lives at 1106 state Hwy. 178 W., Midway, was convicted on two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse June, 12, 1996. The offenses involved Johnson fondling a 10-year-old female and a 12-year-old female.
Johnson was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center on a $500 bond.
