A Virginia judge handed down a five-year prison term to a convicted sex offender found living in a hole next to an elementary school.
Timothy Primrose, 63, was sentenced this week for violating his probation after it was discovered he had made a home for himself in a blanket-covered hole less than 100 yards from the Virginia Beach school.
The school happened to be the one attended by the sentencing judge's own grandchildren. The Virginian-Pilot said Primrose did time for a sexual assault on a child in the 1990s and bounced around as a transient in Georgia and Arizona before winding up back in Virginia.
There was no indication Primrose had ever accosted any of the students near his makeshift shelter.
