An area man was charged Sunday with raping a mentally impaired 30-year-old multiple times over a two-year period.

Roy D. Greathouse, 47, of Pullman, W.Va., was arrested after the victim reported the alleged incidences to her domestic advocate Friday. The advocate then reported the allegations to the sheriff's office.

The victim, who has a mental capacity of a young teenager, stated she had been transported from her home in West Virginia to the Newport address where she was forced to have sex with Greathouse in an upstairs bedroom. The victim stated this occurred on at least 10 occasions with the last being in April.

Greathouse was interviewed and admitted to having sex with the victim on several occasions.

Greathouse is a registered sex offender with addresses in Ohio and West Virginia, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Greathouse has addresses at 19 Corbin Alley, Pullman, W.Va. and a secondary residence at his mother's house, which is where the alleged incident took place.
