A Naperville man remained free on bail Monday after being accused of storing pornographic images of children on computers he kept in his home and at work.
Christopher T. Sunryder, 34, has an arraignment date pending in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton on four felony charges of possession of child pornography, Naperville police confirmed late Monday night.
Members of the department's Internet Crimes Unit arrested Sunryder at 9:15 p.m. Thursday following raids on his home at 1604 Lonsdale Ave., according to a spokesman for the unit who declined to be identified. Sunryder lives in the Southwest Crossing neighborhood on Naperville's southwest side.
The police spokesman said investigators were contacted by a female in Baltimore who told them Sunryder had sent her e-mail "of a sexual nature regarding children."
Internet Crimes Unit members contacted Maryland State Police and began a joint investigation of Sunryder, the police spokesman said. That led to the issuance of three search warrants and the eventual confiscation of two computers from Sunryder's home and his office at Colorado Technical University, an online college with a local office in Downers Grove, the spokesman said.
The computers yielded "numerous child pornographic images," the spokesman said. He declined to say how many images were gleaned from the computers or to discuss the nature of the alleged pornography.
Sunryder has no significant criminal record, the spokesman said.
