Four pedophilia suspects arrested in Brazil

The U.S. couple has been living in the Taquara municipality since 2001. They run a non-governmental organization called New Face, which offered English language courses and sports activities to local children, according to the investigation, which started in February.

Brazilian police on Tuesday arrested four suspects, including two U.S. citizens, charged with pedophilia and trafficking of children in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil.

The suspects were arrested in the community Colina do Sol in the municipality of Taquara, 72 kilometers away from the state's capital city of Porto Alegre.

Four laptops, photographs, VHS tapes, DVDs and a camcorder were also seized in the operation. According to the police, the 63-year-old male of the U.S. couple plotted the scheme. He was allegedly responsible for sending at least two underage boys to the United States. An unregistered revolver was found at the couple's home.

About 20 police agents participated in the operation. Eight minors, who were allegedly victims of the scheme, have testified to the police.
