A registered sex offender is in jail after being charged with kidnapping a Ligonier bartender and raping her.Forty-eight-year-old Dennis Davis of Boswell is registered on the state's Megan's Law Web site due to a 1991 conviction.
Police say that as the bar was closing Davis grabbed the bartender by her hair, put a sharp object to her throat and forced her to drive him to another area. Police say Davis then raped her. Then he forced her to drive him to his car, where he filled it with gas he had taken from another residence.
As Davis was filling up his car, the victim fled back to the bar and called police.
Davis remains in jail after failing to post a $250,000 bond. It was not immediately clear if Davis had an attorney.
