Jerry Burchett - 2 Life Terms for Child Molestation

A Louisa County man is sentenced to two life terms in prison for molesting a child.

Jerry Burchett, 37, was found guilty in Louisa County court for forcible sodomy of a young child.

Louisa Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Garrett says Burchett's sentencing guidelines called for a range from 11 years to 23 years, but Judge Timothy K. Sanner decided to give Burchett a harsher sentence of two life terms.

Deputy commonwealth’s attorney, Rusty McGuire said “hopefully this case will send a message that when you harm children you will be prosecuted.”
