A DUI stop led Metro Police to a drunk, convicted sex offender traveling with five young boys in his car.
Police said Michael Ingram, 39, was driving along Stewarts Ferry Pike and Interstate 40 Friday night when they saw his car weaving in and out of the lanes. When they pulled Ingram over, police said he could barely stand up. In the arrest affidavit, the arresting officer said Ingram was so drunk he "fell down on several occasions just standing." They also found open beer bottles and a marijuana pipe.
Ingram faces a long list of charges including five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, five counts of reckless endangerment, drug paraphernalia, violation of the sex offender registry and DUI.
Police are still questioning the boys. Aaron said, “This is just yet another reason to warn parents when your children are on the home computer make sure you know what pages their on who they're communicating with.”
Police are getting the help of the Department of Children Services to interview the five boys to see if Ingram harmed them physically. They were with Ingram for a three-hour period between 9 p.m. Friday night and 12 Midnight

Ingram, a registered sex offender convicted in the
1990 rape of a juvenile boy, is not supposed to be around children, yet had five 12-year-old and 13-year-old boys in the car with him. Police said Ingram admitted that he had "picked the boys up from a school." They believe he may have met them on MySpace.com.
