Lincoln police say while a man was in jail in April, his roommate came across child pornography on his computer.
It led police to re-arrest 28-year-old Derrick Gartner, who now gives a Beatrice address.
Officer Katie Flood said police arrested Gartner, a Level 3 convicted sex offender, on Wednesday on suspicion of possession of child pornography. She said on April 4, his now-former roommate contacted police after finding disturbing images of children in sexual poses on Gartner's computer.
The next day, police served a search warrant and seized the computer and other media devices. Flood said an investigator since has done a forensic examination and found child pornography.
On May 12, Flood said, police were called to Lincoln High School at 6:45 a.m. about Gartner, who was passed out in front of the school. Police took him to Detox, Flood said, where they found a pipe with methamphetamine residue on it.
