Gaston County Police charged a 24-year-old registered sex offender Tuesday night with the statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl, according to court documents.
Police charged Jeremy Clayton Horne, of the 100 block of Magnolia Street, with statutory rape and taking indecent liberties with a child on Saturday, according to arrest warrants.
Horne was charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor in May 2003, according to the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry Web site. Horne was sentenced to serve three years probation after that conviction, according to the registry.
Horne was booked into Gaston County Jail on $100,000 bond Tuesday in connection with the current charge.
