Robert Davis - Repeat Sex Offender "He Needed Her Bad"

He said he ‘needed her bad’

Investigators seized Davis’ computer and laptop, which was hidden in the attic, in September. They also recovered a portable memory drive that contained more than 90 images of child pornography. Sempa said many of those “sadistic images” included children under 12.

“There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how sordid
and nauseating your behavior is”

For more than three months, Hanover Township resident Robert Davis chatted online and over the phone with an undercover cop posing as a 14-year-old girl named “Samantha,” telling her he wanted to fly her to Pennsylvania, get her pregnant and sell the baby.

At the time, the 48-year-old was on probation for an earlier sex offense, according to court records. He allegedly told the teen if he was caught having sex with her, he’d get sent to prison for 20 years.

He wasn’t far off the mark. On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to two federal counts — using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity and receiving child pornography.

The plea agreement calls for a 22-year sentence. Before accepting Davis’ plea, U.S. District Judge William J. Nealon expressed his disgust.

“There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how sordid and nauseating your behavior is,” he said.

Davis began speaking to the “teen” — actually an undercover officer in Pueblo, Colo. — in a Yahoo.com chat room on July 4, Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis Sempa said.

Almost immediately, Davis began talking about flying her to his home in Pennsylvania to live with him and be his sex slave. He said he wanted to impregnate her and said they could sell the baby on the black market for $40,000 to $50,000.

“He said he ‘needed her bad’ and told her to stop taking birth control,” Sempa said. “He told her, ‘Your age gets me in jail for 20 years if I’m caught.’”

Davis also instructed her on how to dismantle her computer, so no one could find out what they were planning to do, Sempa said, and confided he had a laptop computer that he kept secret from his probation officer, so Internet monitoring software could not be installed on it.

In late summer, Davis told the teen he planned to take her to a sex party in Maryland where she would have to do whatever the other participants told her to do, and said two other teens might be coming to live with him, Sempa said.
