A 21-year-old convicted sex offender who got out of jail last year is again accused of having sex with a teenager, this time near a south Muncie elementary school.
Dixie Leann Corbin, 21, Anderson, received a two-year sentence in June 2006 for having sex with a 13-year-old boy in Madison County. She was released from custody in January 2007, according to Indiana Department of Correction records.
Last summer, Corbin allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old boy in the woods behind South View Elementary School.
Police detective Darrin Clark said the incident was not reported to authorities until last month and the alleged victim was interviewed during the past week.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim's mother confronted Corbin after learning she had sex with her son. When police arrested Corbin on Monday, she refused to give a statement.
Clark said the suspect had also failed to register with the state's sex and violent offender registry.
Corbin is now preliminarily charged with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, both Class D felonies carrying standard 18-month sentences. She remains in jail, pending arraignment, because of the probation violation.
In Madison County, Corbin was accused of engaging in sexual acts with a 13-year-old boy and claimed the youth lied about his age.
In that case she was convicted of child molesting, a Class B felony with a standard 10-year sentence.
Brandon L. Erving, a 30-year-old Anderson man who told police he had acted as a "matchmaker" between Corbin and the 13-year-old boy, was also convicted of child molesting and received a two-year sentence.
