Thomas Gellatly - Teacher charged with child porn

An Omaha teacher has been arrested and charged in connection with having and distributing child pornography.

Omaha Public Schools says first-year teacher Thomas Gellatly won't return to his classroom at McMillian Magnet Middle School. He was arrested Thursday and taught the same day. A district spokeswoman says the district didn't know investigators had allegedly found child pornography on Gellatly's home computer two days earlier.

Authorities say German investigators linked Gellatly to a Web site with child pornography.

Investigators say there were images on his computer of young boys nude below the waist.

Gellatly faces federal charges, but was released after a Friday court appearance.
