A repeat sex offender is back in jail after attempting to sexually assault an elderly woman.
According to police reports, 47-year-old Marcell Herriford knocked on the victim’s door, forced his way in and tried to sexually assault the 62-year-old female.
Police reports indicate the victim was able to identify Herriford, she says she recognized him because he had been living in a halfway house near her home.
According to police reports, when officers went to question Herriford, he admitted to the attack. Herriford was on the sex offender registry for the prior sexual assault of another 62-year-old woman.
