Travis Alan Smith, 24, is accused of uploading the child pornography on at least nine dates between Aug. 2 and Nov. 13.
According to Moore police, Smith allegedly opened an account with a photo sharing Web site, and was banned from the Web site after administrators found he violated their terms of service by uploading child pornography. The defendant then would re-open a different account with different e-mail addresses and screen names and upload more child pornography until he was banned again. Police said this went on at least nine times between Aug. 2 and Nov. 13.
Police served a search warrant at the defendant’s residence and reportedly found several images of child pornography on his computer hard drives.
Smith was arrested in April for allegedly having molested a girl on two separate occasions between May 2007 and February 2008.
According to police, Smith’s wife operated a day care out of the couple’s Moore home in the 1100 block of Elmhurst between May and November 2007, when the first incident occurred. The couple moved into the wife’s mother’s home in the 600 block of Emerwood in Moore sometime between November 2007 and February 2008, when the second incident is alleged to have happened. In both incidents, Smith is accused of waking the girl from a nap and molesting her.
Smith faces a Dec. 16 preliminary hearing conference in that matter.
At the time of his arrest last April, Smith allegedly admitted to police he’d downloaded child pornography on his mother-in-law’s computer while living with her in Moore. Smith’s mother-in-law reportedly gave detectives her consent to search the computer Smith had used, and a forensic examination of the computer revealed several images of child pornography.
An arrest warrant was issued for Smith, requesting he be held on $500,000 bond.
