The man at the center of a high profile 2002 sexual battery case has been arrested in connection with another sex crime.
David Sherrer Jr., 30, is accused of improperly touching a juvenile under 10 years old.
Officers took Sherrer into custody Monday morning. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a charge of gross sexual imposition.
Sherrer, who is the son of former Dayton police Lt. David Sherrer Sr., was convicted in 2002 of sexual battery. Prosecutors said he was a guard at the Dayton Human Rehabilitation Center where he had sexual contact with at least three female prisoners.A judge sentenced him to five years of community control and was ordered to attend counseling.
