Frederick Douglas Picton - Repeat Sex Offender - Prevention at it's finest

Mr. Picton has a history of committing sexual offences against both males and females with whom he is acquainted or with whom he establishes a relationship. In previous offences, his victims have ranged from early teen to early adult years and have included victims who are emotionally challenged and therefore vulnerable.

Frederick Douglas Picton, a convicted sex offender that has been living in Moose Jaw for more than three years is back in police custody. Last month he was arrested for breaching a probation order that prevented him from contacting minors. The arrest followed several public inquiries about Picton in recent weeks.

"He is not being charged with sexual assault or anything like that. It is alleged that he was speaking with children against what his order had stated", said Constable Chad Sheske with the Moose Jaw Police Service.

"In the last several weeks there were several new charges brought against Mr. Picton. Six charges all for breaching his probation, one of those charges was failing to report to his worker and the other five charges were in relation to being around minors". Picton has pleaded guilty to all of the charges. He remains in custody and will be sentenced May 20th.

In 2001 Picton was convicted of sexual offences against teenagers and young adults. He was released from prison in December 2005 and has been living in the Moose Jaw area ever since.
