Jimmy Dean Shaw - Repeat Sex Offender

Trial is scheduled for July 14 for an Orchard man facing 20 counts in a child sexual abuse case.

Forty-one-year-old Jimmy Dean Shaw is charged with 10 counts of third-degree sexual abuse, five counts of second-degree sexual abuse and five counts of lascivious acts with a child.
Prosecutors say Shaw abused a child under the age of 12 between 2002 and 2007.

Several of the charges have been enhanced, which means if he is convicted, Shaw could be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Charges can be enhanced if a person has a previous conviction on similar charges. Shaw was convicted on two counts of lascivious acts with a child in 1996.
Shaw is being held in the Mitchell County jail without bond.
