According to Folsom Police, an accused sexual predator spent a year seducing his under-age victim and is now behind bars for his efforts.
On Thursday, investigators say Michael Jagade Barron, 25 of Rosemont, was arrested on suspicion of a variety of sex-related charges.
A patrol officer received a report on Wednesday that a female under the age of 15 had admitted to having a non-consensual sexual encounter with a 25-year-old man, according to a statement released by the Folsom Police Department.
The juvenile told the investigating officer she had met Barron on a social telephone chat line, commonly known as a party line. The conversations allegedly continued for nearly a year over party lines and social media Web sites before Barron convinced the juvenile they should meet in person.
Barron allegedly met with the juvenile twice over the summer, with both encounters resulting in crimes sexual in nature, according to police officials.
According to investigators, Barron admitted to having "inappropriate, illegal relations with a minor child."
Barron is currently being held at the Sacramento County Jail in lieu of $510,000 bail.
His charges include enhancements for being more than 10 years older than his victim, and communicating with a minor child with the intent to commit a sexual offense, according to Folsom Police officials.
