A 68-year-old Voorhees man was sentenced Thursday to nine years in federal prison after admitting he possessed images of child pornography.

Charles Edward Knighton Sr., of the 100 block of Saddle Ridge Road, was arrested by federal agents in January 2007 after his name was found listed with others as customers of a child pornography Web site.

During his initial interview, Knighton told FBI agents he had some soft-core photos of children, primarily girls in their mid-teens.

The investigation showed Knighton had 200,000 images of children engaging in sexual activity, many of them depicting acts of sadism, according to the criminal complaint against him.

The items were stored in 16 binders in his home. Agents reported while some of the girls in the photos may have been as old as 12, others were as young as 2 years old.
