Jason Shaunesey - Sex offender, and fugitive brother arrested


FAYETTEVILLE -- The United States Marshals Service, Eastern District of North Carolina and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office announce the arrests of Jason Shaunesey, age 22, and Brad Shaunesey, age 20, both of Fayetteville, NC.

Jason Shaunesey was wanted on charges of indecent liberties with a child and second degree sex offense. Jason Shaunesey's brother, Brad, was wanted for weapons violations by the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orange, Texas.

Both brothers were arrested while hiding in a residence located on Keswick Drive in Fayetteville at approximately 7:30 am.

Through the collective resources of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, and the Fayetteville Police Department, an investigation revealed that the Shaunesey brothers were hiding out in several different residences throughout Fayetteville, NC.

On December 27, 2007, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force traveled to a location where the Shaunesey brothers were thought to be living.

Upon searching the residence, the Shaunesey brothers were found hiding in separate rooms. The Shaunesey brothers were subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Jail without incident.

The United States Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force, Eastern District of North Carolina, is a team comprised of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals Service, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Fayetteville Police Department, and the North Carolina Division of Community Corrections.
