Round Rock police seek accused child molester

Ricardo Rosales is wanted for an alleged molestation of a 13-year-old girl. (Round Rock Police Department) Round Rock police are asking for the public’s help to find a man accused of breaking into a home in mid-November and molesting a 13-year-old girl. The victim’s address and family members’ names are being withheld by authorities to protect the child’s identity.

An arrest warrant names Ricardo Rosales, 34, a citizen of Mexico, and charges him with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault. Rosales' bond is set at $75,000.

Officers say, the victim’s mother called Round Rock police at 9 a.m. on November 13 to report family members saw Rosales climbing out of the 13-year-old's bedroom window before fleeing. The terrified girl awakened the family about 2 a.m. to report the incident.
The victim told investigators she was startled awake when she felt Rosales trying to sexually assault her.

Rosales has not returned to his Round Rock home. Police believe he is hiding among friends near his former residence on Wheless Ln. in Austin. Rosales is 5'4" and weighs 135 pounds. When last seen, he had short black hair and a goatee. He may be wearing a ball cap or other head covering. He does not own a vehicle. He works as a construction day-laborer.

The felony charge carries a penalty of up to life in prison and a $10,000 fine.
