A 36-year-old Hailey man has been charged with possession of child pornography following his arrest in Nevada last November for allegedly trying to kidnap a 9-year-old girl.
Bradford Truman Hines was indicted by a federal grand jury in Nevada on Dec. 19 on the charge for allegedly having child pornography images on his laptop computer at the time of his arrest in Jackpot, Nev., on Nov. 1.
Hines is also being investigated in Blaine County for possible possession of child pornography.
The Elko County District Attorney's Office in Nevada told the Idaho Mountain Express on Thursday that Hines is currently in custody after being arrested in Washington on a federal warrant out of Nevada. Further details on the arrest were not immediately available.
The investigation against Hines started in Jackpot when he allegedly tried to entice the girl into his car. The Elko Daily Free Press reported in its Nov. 5, 2007, edition that the girl was near a school, that she fled and immediately and told an adult who contacted the Elko County Sheriff's Office.
Hines was arrested shortly after the alleged kidnap attempt and a laptop computer was seized from his vehicle. He was later released after posting $5,000 bond.
