A convicted child rapist listed on the state’s 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender List has been arrested in New Hampshire, just days after first appearing on the registry.
Twenty-five-year old Derek Boisvert was taken in custody in Hampton, New Hampshire Wednesday morning on a statutory rape warrant issued out of Middlesex Superior Court.
He also had an outstanding warrant on failing to register as a sex offender issued out of Lowell District Court.
According to the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Web site, Boisvert was convicted of rape and abuse of a child in 2001 and sentenced to two years in state prison.
He was listed as a Level 3 sex offender, considered the most likely to reoffend.
Massachusetts State Police say Boisvert was tasered during his arrest on Wednesday after allegedly resisting officers.
