Baltimore County police said they have arrested an Essex, Md., man for solicitation of a 14-year-old Michigan girl over the Internet.
Police arrested James Michael Willnecker, 34, on Feb. 15 after they were contacted by members of an Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce with the Fruitport police department in Michigan.
Police allege a person using the screen name "IBJIM" had been communicating through an online chatroom with the minor from Ravenna, Mich., since December, and was making arrangements to meet to have sex when the communications were discovered by the girl's mother.
Willnecker has been charged with solicitation of a minor for pornography and sexual solicitation of a minor.
Police said Willnecker is a Maryland registered sex offender.
