Columbus police are searching for a registered sex offender who allegedly posed as an undercover officer and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.
Police have charged 38-year-old Charles Williams with rape and kidnapping. Police say he lured a girl into his truck Friday night and assaulted her. She was released four hours later.
Detectives have said the public should consider Williams armed and dangerous, even though his victim did not see a weapon.
Court records show Williams was convicted of gross sexual imposition in 1994 and spent 10 years in prison.
