Platte County authorities are asking for help finding more possible victims of a registered sex offender.

Earlier this month, Robin "Scott" Roggenbuck, 55, was charged with deviate sexual assault and possession of child pornography.

Roggenbuck is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy. According to prosecutors, the victim also said Roggenbuck victimized other teenage boys and that he provided the boys alcohol.

"We believe this defendant may have sexually assaulted other boys who have not yet reported the abuse. We are asking parents whose children may have been victimized by Mr. Roggenbuck to contact police," Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd said in a news release.

Roggenbuck is a registered sex offender whose original offenses occurred in Washington state.

Roggenbuck worked at the Pizza Hut in Platte City, where he met the 17-year-old victim, prosecutors said.

Zahnd said Roggenbuck is not related to the victim but the two lived together.

"(Roggenbuck) was kind of creepy, actually. Just old and quiet. There was a weird thing about him," said Nick Brandes, a friend of the victim.

According to court documents, the victim said Roggenbuck sexually assaulted him at Roggenbuck's apartment on Studio Drive in Platte City on numerous occasions between November 2007 and February 2008.

The victim also reported Roggenbuck used a computer to show him pornographic movies of young boys performing sexual acts. Platte City police executed a search warrant on the residence and seized the computer.

Platte County Sheriff’s Department detectives assigned to the Cyber Crimes Task Force said they found numerous pornographic images of male children after they conducted a scan of the computer’s hard drive.

Roggenbuck is being held in the Platte County Jail on a $30,000 cash bond.

"Our hope is that they will see what this one teenager did, the courage he displayed coming forward, and if they've been abused to come forth and report what happened to them," Zahnd said.
