Terry Wade Lane - 10 years in prison for child porn

A Hartselle man was sentenced today to 10 years in prison for possession and receipt of child pornography.

According to U.S. Attorney Alice Martin, Terry Wade Lane, 52, was indicted last August and pled guilty to the charges in September. He is currently in police custody.

"The sexual predation of children is a profound evil," said Martin. "I commend my law enforcement partners who brought this man to justice. We simply cannot rest in our efforts to protect children from sexual abuse."

In June 2007, Lane ordered a DVD of child pornography using his credit card from an undercover internet Web site advertising child pornography, Martin said. The list of available videos was described by title and/or number, with a detailed description of the sexually explicit acts which were performed in the video, and a specific description of the ages of the child participants in the videos.

Lane had the videos shipped to his home address in Hartselle, Martin said. In his plea agreement, Lane admitted to having contact with a convicted sex offender who told him about the Web site and that he then viewed the Web site and purchased the DVD.
