A Tualatin man has been arrested on suspicion he sexually abused an 8-year-old girl at a Beaverton day care.

Vladysav “Lodick” Volynets-Vasylchenko, 21, is accused of abusing the girl over the course of a three-year period.

Detectives began to investigate Feb. 10 when the girl’s mother told police her daughter had been sexually abused by Volynets-Vasylchenko.

The day care owner holds a permit to provide care for up to 10 children at the facility, police said. Volynets-Vasylchenko has been booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of rape, sodomy and sex abuse.

When police showed up at the private daycare earlier this month to investigate, they found out the day care owner’s son was a registered sex offender.

They arrested Sergey Lyashenko on an unrelated charge of failure to report a sex offender-address change.

The day care is located in the 9800 block of Bonnie Brae Drive. Anyone who may have information related to the investigation is asked to call 503-629-0111.
