WANTED - Bruce Young - Escaped Child Molester - Update!

Young was convicted for raping several girls and women in the 90's while he was a registered nurse at Citrus Memorial Hospital. He worked in the recovery area of the hospital and assaulted several victims, as young as 11-15 years old, while they were under anesthesia from surgeries.



The DeSoto County Sheriff has issued a nationwide BOLO for a violent sexual predator missing from Arcadia.

Florida Highway Patrol, Department of Corrections and the DeSoto County Sheriff's office have not been able to find Bruce Young in DeSoto County.

The sheriff's office says the 59-year-old resident of the Florida Civil Commitment Center escaped from the facility before 1:30 a.m. Friday. FCCC is a secure facility for people detained or committed under Florida's Sexually Violent Predator Act.

Investigators are trying to figure out how Young got through the security fences. So far, the Sheriff's office says there are only a handful of possible leads into his whereabouts.

According DOC records, Young served 10 years of a 13 year sentence. He was sent to FCC on February 1, 2005 and civilly committed on February 25, 2005.

He is 5'8" with brown hair and brown eyes and has a scar on his left elbow. Deputies say he may have shaved his beard, but still has the moustache. This individual is considered to be dangerous.
