Allen Phillips - Gets Life in Prison for Child Molestation

But.........
"he never meant to hurt anybody"

A 31-year-old Clarkston man plead guilty to child molestation and received a life sentence in Asotin County District Court Monday.

Allen Phillips was arrested in April 2007 for molesting his girlfriend's daughter in 2000 and 2001. The child, known as Jane Doe, was six at the time.

Phillips’ lawyer told the court before sentencing that his client was molested as a child. Phillips also addressed the court, saying that he never meant to hurt anybody and that he wants a chance to prove he's not "evil."

Phillips had been out of jail on a $50,000 bond. Judge Ray Lutes sentenced him to life in prison with no chance for parole for 68 months.

Phillips was led back to jail after sentencing.
