A Dawson County Superior Court judge sentenced Malcolm Pierce Lacey to life in prison, with 40-years to be served without chance of parole.
If he were released, the remainder of his sentence would be served on probation.
Lacey was found guilty in a jury trial last week of two counts of aggravated child molestation and four counts of child molestation related to the molestation of a relative between November 2003 and June 2007. The girl was between the ages of 10 and 14 at the time of the assaults.
Northeast Judicial Circuit District Attorney, Lee Darragh, said: "It is not uncommon for someone being charged with molestation to have the same victim over a period of years before the victim reveals what happened to her."
Assistant District Attorney John Wilbanks tried the case on behalf of the state.
