A 48-year-old Columbia man nabbed in 2006 by Pennsylvania's Child Predator Unit pleaded guilty Monday to hundreds of felony sex offenses.

Brian K. Nolt, formerly of 1401 Cloverton Drive, is accused of having explicit online conversations with an undercover agent he thought was a 12-year-old girl. He allegedly tried to arrange a meeting with "the girl" during the online chats, according to investigators.

Nolt pleaded guilty before Lancaster County Judge Dennis E. Reinaker to 270 felony counts of sexual abuse of children.

Agents from the state attorney general's office found hundreds of photos of underage children engaged in sexual acts on a hard drive seized from Nolt's computer.

Nolt also pleaded guilty to an attempt to have unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of his personal computer.

Reinaker told Nolt the 272 felonies carry combined maximum penalties of 1,917 years in prison and more than $4.9 million in fines.

Mike Sprow, an attorney with the state attorney general's office, is prosecuting the case.

Nolt and defense attorney Janice Martino Longer both deferred making statements until the sentencing. That hearing will be held after an investigation of Nolt's background is completed.

Nolt was arrested in May 2006 by agents from the state's Child Predator Unit and Elizabethtown Borough police officers.

Using the screen name, "bkn1401," Nolt first made contact with the undercover agent on Feb. 3, 2006, according to an affidavit filed in the case. He claimed to be a 36-year-old man from Lancaster, the affidavit states.

Nolt's first message to "the girl" was typed, "Hi sexy," the affidavit states.

Nolt continued making contact with "the girl," using more explicit sexual references over time, investigators said. He would describe specific acts he wanted to perform on "the girl," according to the affidavit.

Nolt was arrested May 21, 2006, when he arrived at a supposed meeting place in Elizabethtown Borough. Investigators said he had sexual-aid products in his possession.
