A Reisterstown man pleaded guilty in federal court yesterday to possessing child pornography, a case made possible after a citizen checked on a man who was to take a trip with three boys to Florida and learned the man was on the state's sex offense registry, the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement.

Richard David Morris, 25, faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 8.

Prosecutors said the parents alerted authorities in May 2007 and that one of the youths said the suspect had inappropriately touched him several times at his house. Police searched Morris' residence on April 13 and found computers containing dozens of images of child pornography stored on hard drives, prosecutors said.
