The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a registered sex offender on a charge of third-degree rape.
Shane Reid, 23, was arrested after an investigation revealed that from June to September, he had sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl in Palatine Bridge.
Reid is registered in Fulton County as a Level 1 sex offender and is currently on probation.
He was arraigned and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.
Additional charges are pending.
